WAFLW Grand Final Preview

After 15 rounds, two weeks of finals, and one snap lock down we are finally ready for the WAFLW Grand Final!
The Grand Final was originally to be played on Saturday July 3 but had to be postponed when the Perth and Peel region entered the snap four-day lockdown. The top two teams of the season, Peel Thunder and Swan Districts will now meet Sunday July 11 to decide who will lift the 2021 WAFLW Premiership trophy.
Swan Districts, have won 15 of 17 matches and been the stand out team all year. While, Peel Thunder have the home ground advantage and the confidence that they are the only team to have beaten Swans this season.
Not much separates these two teams...
They have met four times this season, both winning two and while Swans have created more scoring opportunities during these matches they haven’t always converted their opportunities (SD - 18.29.137 v. PT - 19.20.134).
Statistically Swans have the best defense in the League, while Peel have three of the top five goal kickers in WAFLW season 2021 in Kate Bartlett (1st – 36goals), Kira Phillips (2nd – 20 goals) and Ella Roberts (5th – 14goals).
It is sure to be a cracking game of footy and with the help of our three experts, Fremantle AFLW and Subiaco Lions player Hayley Miller and WAFLW Broadcasters Dave Lindsay and Clint Degerbrodt here are the players to look out for and our experts tips for who will be the 2021 WAFLW Premiers.
Players to watch
PEEL: Cassie Davidson and Ebony Dowson always control Peels Defensive line and will look to limit Swans entries through the middle of the ground. Kate Bartlett and young gun Ella Roberts will be dangerous in attack.
SWANS: want to get the ball quickly out wide to Mikayla Hyde and Stephanie Cain, while Bianca Webb and Sarah Lakay are the driving force inside. Emily McGuire is a threat at both ends, she gets into good defensive positions and has been floating forward unmarked and kicking goals in recent weeks.
Experts Tips
HAYLEY MILLER (Fremantle AFLW player) – Swans
