Apple Aisle Earns Finals

The AFL announced on Sunday evening that Launceston would host the 2 Elimination Finals. It will be the first time a VFL/AFL Final will be played in the state of Tasmania. This comes as the Victorian and New South Wales Lockdowns are forcing the AFL to play finals outside of the States.

This may be a push from Tasmania to get the 19th side in the AFL as they push for a Stand-alone team in their state. It’s believed either Hawthorn, St Kilda or North Melbourne could potentially relocate to the Island state but Locals want their own team.

On the other side of the country Perth has missed out on hosting a final in Week 1 as they push to host the Grand Final and potentially some Semi and Preliminary Finals in the coming weeks.
