KALBARRI, just do it

Where the Murchison River meets the Indian Ocean, where rugged outback meets white sand, the town of Kalbarri should be on everyone’s “must see” list.
Only six-and-a-half-hour drive north of Perth this ocean-side natural adventure park is waiting for you. We found Kalbarri full of options to adventure in the outdoors, and plenty of peace and quiet. It is generally warm and sunny most of the year, we had rainy mornings and windy nights but still plenty of sun to go out and explore in during our two-night stay on the weekend.
My favorite things of this visit was spending time at The KAJU YATKA (Sky Walk). It is an engineering marvel. It is beautifully crafted into the landscape and for those scared of height’s (like me) they even have half the walkway designed to put you at ease!!
After the Sky Walk I made my way down to Natures Window, the walk brings you so much closer to the gorge and you can look back up and see just how high you were when on the Sky Walk. Be patient and wait for your chance for photos, everyone wants that perfect shot…. Mine are less than perfect, but hey, now you need to go for yourself!
Walking the beach for the sunset with only one other soul within 500m of us was particularly relaxing and great end to the day.
REMEMBER National Parks do not allow Pets. So keep that in mind when planning your travels. I am travelling with my wife and our two dogs and we either use local dog sitter’s or tag team going on adventures while the other relaxes back at camp with the pups.
There is still so much to do;
· Murchison River cruise, hire a paddleboat or kayak.
· Drive and walk to the lookouts.
· Blue Holes
· Get your steps up with 12 possible hikes/walks ranging from easy to difficult.
· Swim, Surf, Fish
· Wonder through the wildflower trails (July to October)
· Watch the whale migrate from Red Bluff (June to November)
Oh well guess I will have to come back!
