An incident during the Adelaide Crows, St Kilda clash in Cairns on Saturday left

Saint, Hunter Clarke with a broken jaw and the football world talking. It seems everyone has a different view to the ruling of this incident.

Young gun Clarke will miss up to 6-8 weeks of footy after David Mackay, from St Kilda elected to bump in a contest during Adelaide’s crazy comeback win.

The Match Review Officer Michael Christian found nothing wrong with the incident, but AFL football boss Steve Hocking disagreed and has sent Mackay straight to the AFL Tribunal which will sit on Thursday.

Many former players of the game believe the bump was legal with both players going for the ball. Former Collingwood and Carlton player, Dale Thomas believes it’s “ludicrous” that this incident has been sent to the tribunal feeling it’s just an incident where one player came off worse.

While Geelong head coach Chris Scott believes players need to “get with the program” and learn to attack the ball properly and fairly.

AFL commentators believe Mackay will receive a minimum of 3 weeks suspension for the act with potential for the punishment to be much more.

No matter the outcome of the hearing fans, coaches, players and the media will continue to argue and debate the process.
